I tried that thread, I even posted on that thread saying that none of the thing that was suggested even worked.
I mean, even Surged & markoramius1086 on page 4 on that thread has the same problem.

Another problem JameZ, is that according to your private message, the engineer's have ran FurMark benchmarking and saw no problems, the thing is, the benchmarking program speeds past the temperatures that we are trying to get help with.
Though as with video games, the temperature of the GPU slowly increases and eventually when it reaches to the mid 70's or 80 degrees Celsius, that's when it starts to mess up.
As I have ran FurMark myself and I noticed that within the first 15 seconds, when it reaches the 70~80 range in temperature, there is a quick drop in frames and temperature before it speeds past that temperature range.
That quick drop is the actual conflicting part in which we are suffering when we are playing video games, as video games are nowhere near the same as benchmarking as everything gets increased dramatically with benchmarking
Edit: I used the benchmark preset: 720
+ I get very low frames

Edit: Also, seems to occur more frequently in Fullscreen applications
I mean, there should be no reason for this to happen, unless something was changed?
Or is it my Y570 model, (08622KU), which is not being sold anymore on retail sites?
If it is a reason with something changed on this laptop, is there a way to go back to factory defaults or no?

Well I found a better solution then the 99%. In the high performance profile set the minimum processor state to around 50% or less (I guess it will work as well) and the maximum state to 80-85%. Since I did this trick my temperatures in games dropped about 15 degrees for the CPU (from 85-95 to 75-78). The GPU temp is about the same, around 77 in full load. There is no performance loss in games as I tried this settings with games like MW 3, Battlefield 3, NFS The Run. It seems like a fis for the CPU usage is needed because if this games can run perfectly at 85% CPU then why is the turbo boost activating (other to generate heat and throtlle the GPU?).

hi
for first i have to say my english is very bad. I hope all users undertsand me.
I have a y570 to. when i played games z.b crysis2 or bf 3 i haved extrem stuttering to.
But i believe i have a solution.
1. Uninstall the lenovo energy mangment.
2. install the new beta driver 290.53 from nvidia. ( clean install )
http://www.nvidia.de/object/notebook-win7-winvista
3. set your windows energy managment of high peromance.
4. Then go to the extra energy setting.
5. Set the max power of the cpu from 100 to 99 % ( battery and ac )
it works for me fine. i have no stuttering. when you use 100 % the cpu overcloket with turbo bosst and the cpu does overheat.
when you set it to 99 % the cpu does not overclocked.
i hope i can all user help.
my system :
Lenovo IdeaPad Y570 M62GQGE

and when you would you can overclocked the nvidia with msi afterburner.
form 750 to 850 mhz core clock
and 1700mhz shader clock.
the have wehn i played ca. 85C and run stabel.
wish all users a merry x mas

I tried this and yes it doesn't throttle the CPU along with the GPU at the certain temperatures now, but I have noticed that with Intel's turbo boost monitor, the CPU isn't reaching 2.00GHz unless I am within like 97% of CPU power, so I am wondering why is this eddyyy? as this is also a bit annoying to see..., THOUGH THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX FOR ME UNTIL LENOVO CAN FIX THE ACTUAL PROBLEM , this temporary solution will not make me satisfied though as I still want to run everything on 100% of my GPU instead of gimping it down to 90% just so the stupid CPU throttle won't mess around with me when gaming. So please, lenovo staff or anyone that can notify lenovo staff/engineers
fix
this
problem
It doesn't take this long to figure out an issue if multiple people have this problem, and you can't just say "well our engineer's didn't find anything that you have described" when we as consumers (have to state this again?) are having this problem with THIS companies products.

^click the spoiler
I already tried that, didn't much at all
Edit: How much FPS am I suppose to be getting in FurMark? As I have not even surpasing 14 frames max + the renderer says Intel HD Graphics 3000 instead of Nvidia GT555M

Edit: Yeah, after I set it down to that percentage, i've noticed that it isn't even going to 2.00GHz now according to the turbo boost monitor, which I am greatly displeased at.

without lenovo energy managment
without battery in the laptop only ac plugged in.
without throttlestop
cpu enegry managment of windows on 100%
without any stuttering and lags

Hi everyone, two days ago i buy this laptop, and also i got this f...ing fps problem, i hope that lenovo give us driver fix or something to solve this problem. I dont want to give back this laptop... : /
gammon27 i try with your idea run laptop without battery and energy menagment, but that dont help, still i got fps problem, any one got idea ? How to run this laptop with full procesor power with turbo boost !! ??
