I own a y570 and am moving off to college in a week. The TV I am bringing with has svideo, standard rca, and YPbPr inputs. What I was wondering was whether or not the VGA or HDMI outputs on my laptop would be compatible with a simple cable/adapter from either output to any of the inputs, or if I need to buy a converter?
I read somewhere that some video cards support outputting a component (YPbPr) signal from the VGA port, which would enable me to simply buy a cable with VGA on one end and the RGB on the other. Do either of the display adapters (the Intel HD 3000 or the GeForce 555m) in the Y570 allow for that?
Hopefully I'm making sense in how I'm asking the question. If any clarification or additional details would make answering it easier just let me know!
