Hello,
My wife and I recently purchased the Z570 Core i5 (November 2011, in the USA). It worked great up until about 2 months ago. The consistent problem is this: (Note: we have sent it to a Lenovo Service department in Switzerland and they said nothing was wrong!!! and sent it back. The computer worked for a few days then same problem happened)
Problem: Powering down, sleep mode all work fine. Then when we try to reboot or come out of sleep mode nothing happens sometimes, or the power light blinks a few times then nothing happens or sometimes if we wiggle the screen gently the power will come on but we get a blank screen. I'm thinking maybe something internally might be loose but maybe this is a common issue that has a fix to it? Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I myself have been a Lenovo customer since 2005 with my T60p which runs like a champ, but after this experience with the Z570 and the service department, at least the one in Switzerland, I am definitely going to think twice about which company I go with next time. Wish I didn't have to say that.
Thank you,
PS: No upgrades or add ons have been added. Computer is stock from the factory.

I appreciate the response and I wish I could help you out by doing all of what you recommend; however the computer will not even boot up. No power. Even when it did show power lights I could not get to BIOS or safe mode or anything, screen was blank. Now I can't even get indicator lights to show up, and like I said I already sent it to a Lenovo repair center here in Switzerland in which they sent it back without any indication of what was done to it. It worked for about a week and now the same problem is occuring. All we use this computer for is e-mailing, playing movies and music. Nothing fancy. I see though there are many threads about this very same problem with the Z570....
What's your recommendation now?
Thank you for your help.

Hi there johanisberg,
a long shot but something worth trying.
Shut down,remove ac power,remove battery
press start button for 30 to 40 seconds
replace battery(make sure the latches sit properly)
connect ac power,
then start the pc.
Let us know how it goes

And if that doesn't do it,
press power button down 3 times for 10 seconds
and the fourth time for 30 seconds.
Then replace battery and ac power,
and start up.
Hope it helps.

@countrywise..Thanks for the response. The first tip I have done before. That's what I was told to do before I sent it in the first time. I tried again just for kicks, but nothing. The second tip I have not heard before and I tried that, but again nothing.
I'm guessing now my only choice is to send it in again which I am not happy about of course because they didn't fix it the first time. I still have 6 months or so under warranty but to be honest I would rather just have my money back. All this sending back and forth to the service center I am sure can't be good on a computer. You know how the post office can treat packages sometimes.
Unless you have any other ideas?
Thanks again,

Hi again johanisberg,
i most certainly understand and totally agree with you,
on the points you made.
Just to double check, you did make sure when you replaced the battery,
that the latches clicked in place?
İ'm pointing that out because, someone else here had a similar problem,
and realized later, that that was why his pc would not boot.
My laptop is also a ideapad Z570(it's 1.5 months old)
İf i see anything here that may help you,i will certainly let you know.
Since you still have some time before your warranty runs out,
i would hold off for a while yet,and keep searching for an answer to this.

Hello again countrywise,
Again I appreciate the response. I have checked the battery connection many times. Tried it locked, unlocked, holding it in...nothing works.
We did keep in sleep mode all night, which should be fine and we have done before with the Z570 with no problems (my T60p has handled that for 6 years as well), but I did read in a thread about battery drainage for the Z570 during sleep mode. I'm putting it on the charger for a few to see if I get any results; however it should power up with just the A/C adaptor connected. At this point I will to try just about anything within reason before I have to send it back again......
Are you from Lenovo or just a helpful Lenovo owner?
Thanks again for the response.

Just a helpful İDEAPAD Z570 owner.
By the way i was going to suggest that very same thing,
that you boot with only the ac power,
and then only with the battery(no ac power).
Yes it is not a good idea to leave it on overnight,
a number of people have had problems as a result.
By the way, have you tried accessing Safe Mode?
Are you able to?
Do you have a M/soft repair disc ,you would have burned that on a cd.
Let me know how you go,we'll talk again.

Hello Countrywisse,
At this point there is no power getting to the PC. It doesn't even recognize the A/C Adaptor as being plugged in. So, the PC is basically dead in the water which is the same thing that happened before we sent it in the first time.
Our plan is to call the service center Monday to find out what they did to get it to work for a week or so, since they didn't let us know after returning it to use the first time. Then depending on what they say we'll probably have to send it back as we have no choice at this point since the computer is dead....
Lenovo will probably be crossed off our list of computers to buy in the future for sure....
Thanks again for your help,
