So...what are my alternatives here? Because its kind of silly that i bought this laptop but i cant even use the HDD properly due to the recovery mechanic. My D drive is incredibly tiny and almost the entire space of my HDD is committed to my C drive.
You are saying that even if i burnt the recovery disc, it will NOT work if i touch the partitions AT ALL? In other words, if you touch the partitions at all, you cannot recover the system IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE?

yes, indeed.
as you can see here, there's nothing you can do about it ( both parititoning and using okr )
just partition the volume and use ghost or 3rd party backup applications to perform windows installation when you need.

Hi again,
when i try to make factory default disk, I get an error " the program cannot find the inital backup image. This function is currently unavailible"
Im running windows 7 on my Y450 currently.
