Re: How do I reset back to factory reset?

you will also need to change bios boot order but try starting-up your computer by pressing one key recover button. it's easier.

Re: OKR partitions question

hi lenovohhno

as you understand, making changes on volumes may cause okr stops but in your case the issue is linux installation has changed mbr(boot) settings. please, search the forum for further informations.

Re: One Key Recovery Backup - Wsi & Part-Files

Hi yigit,

thanks for your reply. I had to reset the Y560 to factory default because there was a hardware problem. Before I have resetted the notebook, I made a backup with OKR. As my notebook was back from the Lenovo service, I couldn't restore the OKR-image, so I did a reinstall.

Now I have an external device with the OKR backup (part-files, wsi-files...). I'm trying to extract the backup to get my data back. Till now I found no solution to access the data in the part / wsi-files. Do you have an idea?

Re: One Key Recovery Backup - Wsi & Part-Files

have you tried to install/run one key recover and select backup from external device? if it doesn't work, i believe you'll need to ship your computer back to service to reset the hdd to its default.

z470 Partitioning but keeping the OKR Function

[ Edited ]

Hi! First of all sorry for my English.

Well, i've just bought an IdeaPad z470 notebook, the partition "C" has 652 GB, and the partition "D" called "LENOVO" has 30.6 GB. I want to create a new partition "E" by taking some space form "C" (Shrinking "C").

1.- Will i loose the OKR feature?
2.- Should i use the win7 "disk manager" feature for partitioning only? or Can I use another?
3.- Are you absolutly sure of your answers ? O.O?

(Just in case : OKR = OneKey Recovery)

Thanks for your answers!

Re: z470 Partitioning but keeping the OKR Function

hi there.

there are few people who succeed to use okr even after changing the volumes but they were lucky i guess. you can try to check if it works ( if you have okr 7.0, okr 6.0 doesn't support at all ) so the answer will be "you will lose okr function"

V570 Partitioning - 200MB Partition

I recently purchased a new V570. Since I don't care about OKR, I am going to delete the D: partition and Recovery partition and repartition my way.

What I don't understand is the 200 MB partition that the system is booting from. Is this needed for Windows 7, OKR, or both? Because ideally I would like to delete / merge this partition somehow. If this is not possible, since I plan on installing Linux later on, I assume that pointing GRUB to this 200 MB partition should still allow me to boot Windows fine, correct?

I appreciate any help you could provide in enlightening me, yigit, thanks.

@hydroxide

200 mb partition is for windows and okr system. if you delete it, you will get boot file missing message.still you can fix it by using some applications. ( search the forum to fix mbr )

if you are using windows provided dvd, just format all of your hdd and re-partition before installing the windows.

about disk partitioning and recovery on my ideapad Z470

I just had my new ideapad Z40 and I want know if it is available to make new partitions beside the original ones to store my data and also i have some questions about recovery as I'm new to the laptop world :smileyhappy:

1- what is recovery ? and what does it do to my laptop?

2- When I need to install an operating system (for any reason like a virus or something) will I have to make a recovery ?

3- when I make recovery will that wipe away all my data on the hard drive ? and if yes what can I do to save my data from being deleted ?

4- will it be available for me to install and use other operating system like ubuntu and if yes what will happen if i make recovery ?

sorry for taking so long  but I'm really concerned with that subject so please help me with details :smileyhappy: and many thanks in advance
