y530 Upgrade Vista to Windows 7(32) and One Key Recovery [ Edited ]

Hello, I searched the web and forums but couldn't find a definitive answer. If I upgrade Vista to windows 7 32 on my ideapad y530, will the One Key recovery still work. Would it be as simple as running an update? I'd rather not send my laptop in to get this feature updated. 

Also, is there anyone who has upgraded (not clean installed) to windows 7 and regretted it? (As in, there was no real performance or stability improvement other than the look and feel. I have 2gb ram, btw)

just download one key recover from the link below and update it.
also, after upgrading, make a backup file for your computer.
before upgrading, do not forget to un-install all the drivers.

Im trying to use windows disk management to partition my new lenovo laptop, but theres something strange about it.

In disk management, it says my HDD is partitioned into a 200MB (system, active, primary partition), C drive, a D drive and a 14.75 GB OEM partition.

The 200mb and 14 GB are invisible under windows explorer and is preventing me from making the partitions i want, since the HDD has already hit the limit of 4 partitions. What is going on here? How do i "see" the invisible partitions under windows explorer? I want to get rid of one of the partitions to add a E drive(so that i would have a C drive, D drive and E drive normally).

Why is there a 200mb partition in the first place anyway? Very strange...

there's a hidden partition in your harddisk ( one key recover ) that helps you to perform clean windows installation by pressing one key recover button. ( oem partition )

and 200 mb partition includes system files for booting.

if you don't want to use one key recovery function, backup the drivers on d volume, then use your microsoft provided disc to perform clean installation with partitioning the disc. ( format & partition your harddisc as you want )

Can i do away with the 200mb partition? For example merge it with my C drive? What is it for anyway, cant the laptop boot up with only the system files on the C drive?

I really want 3 of my own partitions that i can use.

if you don't want to use one key recover ( okr ) function, while performing clean windows installation, delete all the partitions and create as you wish.

if you want to use okr function, leave the boot partition, if you delete, you may not access windows. ( windows won't load ) . ( if you make changes on volumes, okr will stop )

Uhhh so in other words there is NO way to get more than 2 partitions for user use unless if i want to use one key recover?

If i do NOT want to use one key recover, i can remove the OEM partition and the boot partition without any problems?

Do i need one key recover if i have the recovery CDs?

yes. if you resize the volumes, okr discs won't work either.

Hi, have purchased a lenovo y450 from a friend. The problem is that my friend has installed windows 7 ulitmate and he still has his games and movies left inside. What i want to ask is that if i create a recovery disk with onekey rescue system, will it backup the junk files inside? I want to clear the laptop to original state without any files, using the recovery disks. I want the windows 7 os with only the nescessary software only. Thks in advance.

create recovery disc with factory settings.

run okr >  create recovery disc > factory default recovery disc.
