I've had a u330 for 3 years now and the white bar issue first showed up a year after I bought my laptop - Lenovo replaced the LCD screen on warranty and everything worked fine for 2 years. Now the bar is back - in exactly the same place it was before and the laptop is no longer on warranty. A local service centre says the lcd screen needs to be replaced again (for about 40% of the price of the whole computer), but it makes more sense to me that it's a loose cable like you've all described in your posts.
Can someone please confirm that that was finally the problem and that the solution is to tighten the cable connections?
