I recently upgraded my y550 from vista home premium x64 to windows 7 home premium x64 and I can't get the built-in camera to work. Whenever I try to install the driver, it gives me the following error message:
"The USB Video Device has not found!
Please plug the USB Video Device and then run installation again"
Does anyone know how to fix this?

at first ,you must make sure the camera is open.. use Fn+Esc to open it.
don't install the driver of lenovo .the auto-upgrade of windows 7 will install the camera 's driver by itself...

i got it to work about a month ago though. the camera was open but it was just an issue with the driver.

first of all activate your camera by pressing fn + esc
after you locate the .inf file for the driver that you want to install, manually install the new driver. to do this, follow these steps:
- click start, right-click computer, and then click properties.in the tasks pane, click device manager.
- if you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click continue.
- in device manager, locate the device for which you want to install the driver.
note to display hidden devices, click show hidden devices on the view menu.
- right-click the device, and then click update driver software.
- click browse my computer for driver software, click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, and then click have disk.
- in the install from disk dialog box, click browse, locate an .inf file for the device driver that you want to install, and then click open. ( d:\drivers\camera )
- follow the steps in the update driver software devicename dialog box to update the driver.
or there is a folder named "drivers" on volume d, find the "camera" folder, run the setup ( probably CmDrvLdr.exe )

Yup, Fn + Esc turned the Camera on and installed the needed driver...Thanks!
But, Lenovo has been the least helpful in this matter.. Upgrade to WIN 7 was a PAIN!!!!!!
