Firstly, I'm not a very computer savy person so if my lingo is a little elementary I apologize.
Certain applications/programs that i put on the slide nav go on at first (example: firefox, skype, word, mcafee). Then after a few minutes or so, the icons disappear and are replaced with a Paper&Gear icon which do nothing when selected. I'd really appreciate some help with this. Thanks

Hey guys,
Recently I got a virus on my computer that may have affected start up processes etc but the virus is all removed now. Slidenav wasn't working (nothing would happen upon sliding my finger or touching the battery icon)
I have tried everything to get it to install. I have re installed Synaptic touch drivers, energy mangement drivers. Slidenav drivers. Everything. However every time I go to install Slidenav it either tells me that I don't have the drivers installed or that I must have Windows 7 even though I do. I have also tried to install drivers in safe mode.
Any other ideas guys?

Yep, read through both threads already. System restore isn't an option as well as it just hangs on any restore point.

Just to confirm, these are the drivers I am using.
Touchpad - http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/driversdow
Power Management - http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/driversdow
^ I am not sure about this one as I am downloading an "Energy" rather than "Power" management program.

Hi David,
this thread heading is about Y560p model but you've listed drivers for the Y560.
Since these two are entirely different models please make sure to use only
the appropriate drivers for your machine, e.g. first Pointing Device Driver
then all 4 .exe files for SlideNav and then Energy Management Driver!
Please also uninstall old drivers first via 'Programs and Features' in Control Panel
then shut down and reboot the laptop before installing new drivers!
