z575 blue screen

I just did a fresh install of windows and I got a blue screen last night. It said stop0x00000116. It also said something about an atikmdag.sys error. This computer is brand new and this is only the first time it happened. Should I be worried that windows is corrupted or something is wrong with my computer? By the way all the drivers are up to date and installed correctly from lenovo.

Re: z575 blue screen

That sounds like a problem with graphics driver.
Did you install the one provided by Lenovo?

I would suggest booting in safe mode and see if
that works. Then post back.

Re: z575 blue screen

I installed the one off the lenovo website yes. Its really wierd because I just did a fresh install. I was just listening to music when all of a sudden my screen did this weird thing then blue screend. Look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp2pXhmGH-8. It looks alot like that. It is also weird because I have played games on it for a couple of hours today and it is not doing it again. Could this just be a weird glitch?

"Could this just be a weird glitch?"

That would be nice!

There are MANY posts around the web about the same
type of Glitch, and the many possible causes.

From BIOS, to memory, to bad drivers, overheating, and
whatever else you can think of.

Thoroughly search this forum for similar, may be some ideas.

I will keep an eye open also.

Re: z575 blue screen

Ok well its been two whole days and no blue screens. I have been using the laptop at least 3-4hours each day web surfing and I even was able to play battlefield and some other games so Im hoping this points to my hardware being ok. The only thing I can think of is that spotify was open at the time....hmmmmm'

does anyone else have any insight on this issue?

Anyone? A lenovo specialist have an answer for me? I just want to make sure It is not the hardware. How can I make sure its not the hardware without resinstalling windows 7??

Re: z575 blue screen

I would just like to know if there is a way to make sure its not my hardware. I only have so much time to get this exchanged (30 days). So far it has not done it but I just want to make sure it is only a software glitch not something wrong with my laptop.

z575 blue screen

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE POSTED THIS. I THINK THIS MIGHT BE SERIOUS. I will give the link to my original post http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-and-Z-series/z575-blue-screen/m-p/790561. I am dissappointed it has been 2 weeks with no replys...these forums are starting to suck when no one answers you.
