Dual booting windows 7 and XP on an extended partition

Question

 

 

I want to do a dual boot  windows 7 ( oem installed ) and xp  , can the  xp be on extended partition?

If it is possible to do this after converting the hard disk to a dynamic disk?

 

 

Answer

You can, But XP will over write the bootsector. I am not sure on how to restore the Win7 boot files, Otherwise only XP will load. It works best if you install XP first then install Win7 second.

 

Always  install the oldest OS  first when you want to configure a multi boot system
