How to disable BioExcess Fingerprint Reader --- Lenovo V570

Question

I have a Lenovo V570 with Win7 Home.

I enrolled two fingerprints to use instead of a password. If I want to go back to using my password to login, how do I shut off or disable the fingerprint reader?

Answer

Note that it is not advisable to disable the following drivers as they are all co-dependent.)

Make sure you have an alternate form of log in set up through Windows. (Password or no password)

Hit Start and in the search bar enter: msconfig

In the StartUp list, try to locate:

EgisTec Fingerprint Driver  &

BIOExcess

Uncheck, reboot.
