IdeaPad fails to connect with WiF - need to reset DSL or Cable Modem
My Y510 sometimes does not connects to my wireless internet if either the IdeaPad or the DSL / Cable modem started earlier then the other. I've checked the support site to ensure the BIOS, and networking drivers for the Ideapad are up to date. Still, in order to connect to wireless internet I must restart my modem and sometimes both the modem and the system.
Check modem manufacturer's site for firmware updates, and apply them if available. If a wireless router / access point is also involved, check for available firmware updates for it as well.
Start-up your computer, press f8 to load safe mode ( with networking ) and try again, lets see issue persists. Ff issue persists, try to un-install the network drivers, restart your computer and reinstall the drivers, then restart the system again.
