V570 - Error when installing Wireless LAN driver (Atheros,Broadcom)

Question

I am getting an error "No Matched Wireless!" when installing the WLAN (Atheros,Broadcom) driver on the V570.

Answer

This issue has been resolved via installing the latest V570 WLAN driver available from the Lenovo Support site

Please note that that this driver is for the Atheros, Broadcom WLAN and not Intel Wireless WIFI Link WLAN card.

Please check main Lenovo Support site for the V570 for the other drivers if you can't install this one.

The driver provided in the link still does not work on the v570 with a 2nd generation Intel Core i5. The bios is up-to-date and the Energy Management Software is installed as well. In addition, changing the boot order (so the CD drive appears first) does not solve this issue. Also, I should note that the boot order doesn't have the problem of resetting each reboot (which is a problem some people with the z570 have mentioned) I can see the fn + f5 option to turn the wireless on and off, but that has no affect on making a Wireless Network Connection appear (yes the switch in the front is also on, even confirmed by a GUI indicator at the bottom right of the screen for a few seconds).

Because the driver cannot be installed (thus receiving the popup pictured in the above post), there is a Network Controller device in device manager under Other Devices. Even scanning all of C:\Drivers (after downloading and running ALL of Lenovo's drivers for the v570) did not solve the problem.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

benm502, second one down is:

Intel® PROSet/Wireless Basic Enterprise for IT Administrators: Windows 7 32-Bit*

Are you not running a 64-bit Windows 7?

i gess on their site you have to tell it 64bit up in the top section area.  i am indeed running 64 bit and got the working driver there (and am using the wireless connection to type this)

benm502, yeah thanks, this was resolved by another user (wjsamx) here. Sorry, I shoulda posted the solution here too. Thanks though. And others need to make sure they download the 47MB full software package. For some reason, just the drivers alone don't work...unfortunately.

Thanks for the feedback - we will recheck our drivers and update / revise the article.

@All,

I did a test with the V570 - i3-2310M (Nvidia). Did a clean install of Win 7 Ulti x64 (NO SP1) (Delete all partitions including Lenovo OEM recovery). Boot into Windows, installed Ethernet driver first, went to the link installed the driver. WLAN switch is turned on, driver installed fine. WLAN works fine and connecteed to Lenovo network.

Do note that there are 3 different Wireless drivers for the V570.

1. Intel EchoPeak WiMAX Driver

2. Intell Wireless Wifi Link Driver

3. Wireless LAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom)

This driver is for the Wireless LAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom).

That's the one I had used. Try with a 2nd gen Core i5 maybe. btw, shouldn't the same model (v570) use the same processor?
