Hello,
Is there any way to enable VT on the Lenovo Y430?
I'm running the P8600 processor which is VT capable, but Lenovo doesn't provide this option in the BIOS.
Having said that, I tried upgrading to the latest BIOS version since they said the Y430 was Windows 7 Upgrade Capable...apparently that isn't the case since it can't support XP mode ![]()
i saw the thread for the Y550, however I doubt it applies to the Y430...
Can anybody assist me?
Thank you!

The Y430 has Phoenix BIOS for which you can enable Intel VT via SYMCMOS.exe.
You can follow this guide [translated from Chinese] to enable this feature.
You will need to boot into DOS from either a USB floppy drive [floppy disk is needed] or a USB flash drive [with the HP USB Format utility].

Hi Yun,
What BIOS version did you have before patch it. In general a required register number is version dependent (see http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-and-U-series
