I have an older thinkpad 380 XD which seems to be working fine. It has been in the closet for a while but just charged it and it is working well. I can't figure out how to get onto the internet though. Any clues?? I have searched the boards, this website, downloaded the manual - none of these address how to connect to the internet. THis laptop has one USB port, a bunch of pin ports, a pop out for telephone line for a fax modem, but I can't figure this out. I am a Mac user so this is new to me.
Can anyone help me with this?

Welcome to the forum!
The only way to connect to the Internet would be your 56K modem at this time.
You can install a PCMCIA LAN card, these are very cheap nowadays, and be surfing in seconds.

Thank you for your reply. I think I figured out it was dial up. Boy is this an antique. So if I understand this correctly, I hook up a phone line to the pop out thing and go from there? Is this computer worth keeping and using? I have windows 2000 professional on it.

I would strongly suggest getting a PCMCIA LAN card and going broadband...
