A31 battery percentage.

Hi,

Just got hold of my first laptop, a refurbished A31. On arrival and first bootup (from AC adapter), I noticed that the battery percentage is showing as 59%. The unit will not power up unless the AC adapter is used, and leaving it powered off but plugged in overnight does nothing.

Any help gratefully received.

Welcome to the forum!

My assumption would be that the battery is bad. Try borrowing another one and report the results back.

Thanks George...that was my gut feeling. Is there any other way to confirm the diagnosis? I'd hate to buy a new one and find the problem was inside the unit. I don't know anyone with the same model to try a swop.
