A small hope:

Remove battery, unplug from wall power.

Press power button for approx. 30 seconds and attach the power supply.

Try to turn on without battery.

Hey Mornsgrans i have tried that, and the was no reaction. I have also taken the hard drive out (smelled a bit funny Maby it have been hot). If you put an cd/dvd into rom it spinds up, but it is all that happens. Can i test if the hdd is broken?

You can test the system without HDD  f.ex with a bootable CD-ROM. The POST will take then a  much longer time. But if the display still keeps black after turning on, there might be annother problem.

Please also check the USB-ports whether they have no damage or short.

Could you locate the source of the smell?

Additional information:

The Z61-series are similar to T60 (!!!) - so they also can get the typically T60-damages like flexing of the ATI-graphics chip (in your case ATI FireGL v5200).
