HELP - Cloning old hard drive for new hard drive on Z61m [ Edited ]

Hello Again!

Thanks for your help.

I have an 80GB hard drive currently on my laptop.  I will be replacing it with a brand new 320GB HD that I just purchased. 

1)  I need to clone/back up the information from my current drive in order to then put software and everything    

     from old drive everything back on the new drive. 

2) I  just got Acronis.

3) I have and external hard drive

Can someone please give me step by step instructions how to do this properly?

Which version of acronis are you using?Did you go through the documentation of it?

Acronis Home 2009.   I tried but couldn't find the right info.
