Lenovo G41 2882 Flashing battery light

Hiya all, Today my lenovo simply wouldnt charge, stayed below 20% after hours of charging, with my charger becoming almost red hot (Could burn if touched) But thats normal, But today the normaly green battery light on the lil led started flashing orange / green even while charging, I powered down, cleaned the battery connectors made sure it was all dust free and same thing, But now its saying my battery is around 90% charged >_> And its not losing power, Think somthing is messed up, Anyone know? Thank you in advanced for any help!

Will the machine run off the battery alone, with no adapter plugged?

It worked yesterday, But last night i ran the bettery dead (It never gave me a proper battery life number), Now its running off the AC adapter and doesnt seem to charge despite charging all day >> or atleast for the past few hours

You won't know what the facts are until you test the system with another *known good* battery.

For now, I'd physically remove the battery and run the machine on adapter only.
