Plain ol' curiosity on my end...what's the oldest ThinkPad folks around here use on "regular" basis...
By "regular" I mean turn on at least a couple of times a week and use for an hour or two...
In my household that's the A31p in my signature which actually never gets turned off...![]()
How about you?

My T22 still is in use as music player and recorder.
While i'm typing in these words, my T22 is capturing "Pink Floyd - The Wall" from my good old vinyl records bought in 1980.
Since i did it with the T22 a couple of years ago the first time, i was too lazy to try it with my Thinkpad 760XD or 770X today ![]()

I have three working IBM Thinkpads: 600 (Windows 98), refurbished from IBM); A21m (Windows 2000, purchased new in March 2001); and TP 43p (Windows XP Prof., refurbished from IBM). They all have docks.
I use my A21m constantly, for all my serious and day-to-day computing - except for my annual tax return and my ITunes/IPod management, which require Windows XP.
I use my Thinkpad 600 for recording music from my old audiocassettes (so that I can convert them to MP3s or CDs) and sometimes as an e-reader. I also use it with an old camera and an old scanner that are incompatible with modern computers.
While my IBM-logo T43p is patiently waiting for the A21m to retire, it functions as my entertainment center. I use it as a TV, DVD player, ITunes/music player, and for burning CDs or DVDs. (As a computer, per se, I currently only use it to do my annual tax return.)

The oldest one that's used daily is an a31. I also have some older ones but have nothing I need of them so they don't often get booted, but the a31 runs a dozen or more IRC and IM accounts, and I sometimes use it for browsing if I happen to be on it at the time.
This unit has been running 24/7 for over 10 years, and besides the fact that the letters are mostly worn off the keyboard, it still works as good as the day it arrived. It's on it's second harddrive and has had ram upgraded, but no other failures of any kind.

Hi George,
Nice thread.
I guess my oldest one is a G40. I still use floppies to read eproms and this was perfect. It's my office machine, it works great for that, plus my cats like to curl up next to it on cold days. I have to clean out the fan about every three months. It heats my little office nicely and I can warm my feet on the power brick on cold days.
The portable one is an x32, it used to go everywhere with me, but I find I am using the x41 tablet more and more.
