What happens if you take one of the RAM sticks out?
Try running memtest86 and see whether there's an issue with your RAM.
Hope this helps.

Yesterday I ran some updates recommended from ThinkVantage. And among the updates there was a BIOS update. "version 2.25 - 1.08"
And all day the computer just shuts off for no apparant reason.
6 times today the screen fades off and the computer shuts down. No warning, message or anything. It just shuts down.

My Z60M also shuts down with or without battery. After removing the battery and putting it back in the docking station it worked great for a while, I thought I had it figured out, but then it shut down again. The computer has never been opened or modified...
Cooper82, did you fix yours?

I haven't fixed mine yet but here are somethings that have happened while trying to figure out what is going on: If I plugged in my printer into the USB port on the right side of the computer and plugged in the power cord the computer would stay on for ever, if unplugged the printer from the usb port the computer would go off.
then low and behold today I plugged my wireless mouse into the right side usb port (the lower one) the computer started going off again, i unplugged the mouse and restarted the computer but no go, with the power cord plugged in the computer goes off......I am about to go out of my mind.
Taking the computer in tommorrow and let the pro's handle it.....maybe they can figure it out.
