Since replaced palmrest, get get error cannot find fingerprint sensor device and can't get past windows sign in. Touchpad seems to work. Tried checking connection of palmrest assy. Is there a way to bypass fingerprint reader during boot so can get access to windows. Have disabled in BIOS but doesn't seem to work. BIOS predsktop authentication set to disabled

I'd be betting on a software/malware bug, not a hardware problem.
Boot from a "live" Linux CD, extract the important files/document on a flash drive, reformat the drive and re-install Windows.
Good luck.

THanks. Fortunately, not a lot of important info on there. I was afraid would have to do that.
I don't have Windows CD. PC came with it on there. I guess have to look to see if have original recovery CD
