3000 N100 power problems

Hi, I have a 1 yr old 3000 N100. The battery appears to have died and now the laptop won't run on main power either - it crashes while booting up. Can anyone suggest a good place to take it to be serviced and/or puchase a new battery ? ( Ratu Plaza ?) Thanks

I just did a search on "N100" and see that there was a battery recall with the same p/n as mine, back in 2008. I guess I need to buy a new battery, as the machine and battery are out of waranty ( thinking back, it was 2008 that I bought it, and not last year). In the meantime , is there any problem running the laptop with the battery removed ? ( It won't boot up with the battery in place). Thanks

Run with battery removed until you get a new one.
Should be no problem.
