Rescue and Recovery large backup

forgive me if i asked this before, just back-up your files to external hdd or dvd then burn recovery discs, perform clean windows installation.

Thanks for the advice. If you think that is the only solution then I do have some recovery discs from 2 years ago but it is not something I would do myself so I had better get the chap who did the discs to help me. I'm nowhere near knowledgable  to risk doing this but I thought the forum was worth a try in case it was something that I could cope with myself.
