B575 BSOD

A couple nights ago, my B575 went unresponsive for awhile.  When I regained mouse and keyboard control, I tried exiting programs and restarting.  I got the BSOD, along with this specific diagnostic:

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

STOP:  0x0000009F (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA800395E060, 0xFFFFF80004481518, 0xFFFFFA8006F55CB0)

A preliminary Google search points to some possibly bad drivers.  I have attached a generic no-name laser mini mouse and a rather old (but very functional) Apple USB keyboard.  Windows tells me the drivers for these are current.

Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

Re: B575 BSOD

If those are the first two most recent devices you attached i would first try removing those and see if the issue re occurs.  Have you updated any other drivers lately at all?  If so and the problem still occurs after removing those two devices from the equation .  Generally This error is generated when a driver does not work when Windows changes between power modes. For example going into or coming out of hibernation or Standby.  Also in addition i would make sure all your drivers are up to date.

Out of date drivers for hardware devices, or system utilities that run in the background, such as backup software, antivirus scanners, etc., can also cause this issue to occur. To verify if your system has any of these files follow the below steps.

  1. Click Start
  2. In the Run line type sigverif and press enter.
  3. This should open the Windows File Signature Verification utility that can scan for files without a digital signature.

Re: B575 BSOD

I went to the Microsoft link in your reply and their description of the problem appeared to be spot-on.  I ran their Fix It tool.  Time will tell.  Thanks so much!
