Looks like I was wrong.

 

Fn key + F2 key turns off the backlight and you end up with black unlit screen and the laptop continues to boot into Windows.

 

So the problem faced by the original poster may well have to do with BIOS version.

I seem to have the latest version so - sorry about that.

I dont want to creat a new Thread because i have the same issue. If anyone got a solution please reply. I have changed the CMOS-battery. I used a usb-keyboard. Nothing work.
