I set up this notebook, which I like very much, on December 22, 2011. On that day I had a hungapp message and Windows Explorer is not responding.
On 1/5/12 we got the message Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, and a BSOD. We chose to start Windows normally.
On 1/20/12 we couldn't get the screen to load (power button on - no screen. The cpu was running because I heard the fan and felt the warm air) I attached the charger to notebook and the power button responded by shutting windows unexpectedly. Was then able to access notebook with message it was shut down improperly and chose to start windows normally.. When started, the battery had 46% power.) I don't know if the notebook was in sleep or hibernating - but it had been used about 1/2 hour prior. Event viewer showed a troubleshooter BUG Report was issued, among other errors.
On 1/22/12 the notebook was sleeping, Tried to wake it and browser wasn't loading properly. Closed browser and notevook was fine.
At this point I called Lenovo support and was told I had to have a active problem and to call when the problem was occuring.
Today while in the Admin account I got a message from Windows that Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. I checked the Event Viewer and see that this occurred on 2/2/12. Here are the messages

I ran MemTest for 14 hours and the notebook passed all the tests.
I don't feel that this notebook should be doing this. Does anyone know why this is happening? Windows Updates are current.
I've looked at the list of Lenovo updates, but am confused by them i.e., I see items for an Idea Pad G570 - is this an idea pad? I think it's a Lenovo G570 notebook. There is a chipset update, but the date is older than the chipset driver in the laptop, but the version starts with 9 as opposed to 8.
Thank you for any help.
Sincerely, Libra

Hi yigit,
Thank you for your reply.
I found the minidump file which I can't open but I should be able to zip it. How do I attach it here?
I don't have a disk to reinstall Windows and I wouldn't know what drivers I would need. I could probably use that One Key Recovery - but that's not a clean install.
Please let me know how I can get that .dmp file to you. (Thanks also for letting me know what type of a laptop I have.)
Sincerely, Libra

Hello again.
I finally managed to zip and upload the file to Rapidshare. Here is the link:
https://rapidshare.com/files/1658651812/MEMORY.zip
This is the reference to two kernel errors that I have received:
C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP\Data\010512-23821-01
C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP\Data|020212-16629-01
I had a problem accessing the file. The security folder of the file listed System and Administrators - but it had the computer name listed, not mine. I clicked on add, and selected "built in security principal" and then typed my admin name and it added the computer name to my name. It didn't list me as an admininstrator. I clicked okay and got a warning from Windows that I am changing the security to system files and may make the computer insecure. I went through with it and was able to zip the file. I hope I didn't do any harm.
I appreciate your looking at the dump file. I hope it sheds light on what the problem is.
Sincerely, Libra

Glad to know i'm not alone...My girlfriend and I both have new g570's that were purchased in January and we've both had the BSOD at least once. I've never had win7 on any other computers...these seem exceptionally unstable for some reason.

I am seeing occassional BSOD's with id 41 errors too, i have a G570, in preparatiion for having to re-install windows i found this page for the G570 ... http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDow
I suspected perhaps there was something going on with the resume after going to sleep for a while , I have put a
SD chip in with readyboost on it to see if it helps or not....
