Buying a replacement keyboard

Sorry for the mundane question, but the typical googling has not proven very useful. 

A cup of coffee got spilled on my laptop (Lenovo 3000 N100) recently and a few of my keys no longer work. 

Have been trying to find a place to order a replacement and have been suprised by how few places are offering this part.

One place (forget its name) offers it for a whopping $200 and another (sparepartswarehouse.com?) for $60 or $70. I tried to order from the 2nd place, but it turned out they didn't have it.

Anybody have suggestions on getting this without paying an arm & a leg? $200 for a replacement keyboard seems insane.

you should give lenovo support a call and enquire about it, i can't find a second hand one anywhere. It shouldn't cost 200 USD, given that a new laptop only costs 500 or so USD.

thanks. Yeah, it's funny. I've found a few more places by searching again using the FRU, but so far they haven't turend out to have it in stock.

This shouldn't be so hard. This isn't a really old model from an obscure manufacturer!

Turns out the best solution was *not* to be found online. I called Lenovo's support line and they sold me one for $50-60 (forget now exactly how much). Turns out they keep a lot of these in stock for repair shops that resell their stuff.

Hello svendster/ others.

Is it pretty straightforward to remove a keyboard and replace it? (I have a 3000 N100 and had not even put the milk into my coffee before spilling it on the keyboard). Thanks, Andrew.
