Re: Colors are not properly

Can you boot in Safe Mode? (press F8 key at Lenovo screen on startup

and choose Safe mode in menu displayed).

How does it look in Safe Mode?

Can you try a external monitor connected to your laptop?

Do colors display properly on external?

Post model of laptop also.

Re: Colors are not properly

I have a G560 that does not display green, in colour management i can move the sliders and adjust the red and blue and get noticable differences, the green gives a slight change.

But when i choose a picture that is predominantly green, such as a plant, it appears a deep reddish purple, as if colours are blended.

I recently installed a new screen to replace the broken screen i bought it with. I am unsure if this isue was there prior to my purchase.

I have tried a second new screen with the same result, I have also upgraded the processor from a P6100 to an i5-540m.

I was hoping that having the graphics built on die, that the problem would be solved, however it persists.

Can this be BIOS related or an issue with the motherboard? i really have no idea now and any suggestions would be appreciated.

You should test with a external display first of all. Very important.
(Check bios settings for display and set to Auto or Both if available)

If external displays good, problem is either screen, or cable.
If external display also "no green", graphics chip failure is possible.

Since you replaced the screen, the problem may be the cable,
either the end connections, or the cable itself. Recheck your
connections.

Memory is another slight possibility, so test also. (Memtest86)

Graphics driver also a possibility, install latest from Lenovo, NOT

manufacturer, for testing.

Post graphics chip manufacturer, Intel or Nvidia, or AMD.

Post OS you are using.

Using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and Intel graphics.
I am expecting delivery of a 4Gb stick of ram soon so will swap that out with existing ram to test that.
Will connect to an external monitor to verify colours and get back to you, ty for your help.

An update, I've connected to an external monitor and colours are brilliant on that.

Based on what you have said, it should be either the cable or ram, as two different new screens were tested in it.

Re: Colors are not properly

The cable should be checked for proper connection, Both ends.

Also see if there is any spot where cable might have been
pinched, by hinge area, etc. Wires inside the cable bundle
may have been broken.
Wiggle the cable around and see if display changes.

* Use caution when testing screen and cable with power applied,
watch what you touch. Don't want to short anything out!

Does your panel have a inverter? If so, it might also be
a slight possibility.

Re: Colors are not properly

Still no joy with this, I replaced the cable also, and checked the connections were secure.

There is no change in the displayed colours.

Drivers must be OK as colours are fine when hooked up to an external display.

Almost ready to give up on it :manfrustrated:

Re: Colors are not properly

Well the graphics are built in to the cpu, so maybe your
upgraded i5 is faulty?

You "replaced the cable" with a new one?

The lcd panels you installed, were they a exact match to original?

Just more ideas, a tough one to solve!
