Faulty parts being put in Lenovo Laptops

Hi

I purchased 2 Lenovo 3000 N200 three years ago.

This month both have failed due to the inerrant problem of the NVIDIA Go 7300 display chip.

My question, this was a well documented problem and admitted by the CEO of NVIDIA so why was there no recall by Lenovo.

The 2 laptops cost me £900 very expensive door stops

I hope someone at Lenovo can give me a good answer why they weren’t recalled.

I’ve had IBM laptops which have lasted 8 years without problems.

Would have been nice to have a reply off Lenovo?.

But at least it makes up my mind not to renew these door stops with Lenovo laptops.

if you have faced the issue within two years ( when you had valid warranty ) lenovo would replace the part if it was necessary. ( lenovo did replacements for the intel chipsets )

so i can say, you were kinda late. you should've contacted lenovo support line before.

ps: i don't work for lenovo and this is my personal opinion.

UPDATE

Got both these laptops working again stripped them down then did a reflow on the graphics chip they have been running without a problem for 2 weeks now fingers crossed.
