Fingerprint scanner maintainance

 I wanted to ask if anybody has good ideas for cleaning the fingerprint scanner ... coz it has become buggy.

Another thing .. does anybody know how to get it to work in Linux Ubuntu ?

I have not had any issues with the fingerprint scanner although a good way to clean it would be with an anti-static cleanning wipes.  Try to scan digits using slower than usual and remember how they system recorded your finger print.  If you pressed down hard to record, you should as well do the same now. 

Never give up the answer is out there.

I haven't seen a good implementation of fingerprint recognition under linux. I've heard of some developments, but there's next to none involving the AuthenTec fingerprint devices.
