G460 - i5 430M - GeForce 310m - No charging problem.

Hi there,

I have a G460 0677 powered with a i5 430m and Geforce 310m, but from one day to another it just stopped charging the battery, even when turned off, my bios version is v2.02, and when i try to flash a newer one (even v2.03) the whole computer just freeze when the app opens.

solutions tried:

Battery switching (with a fully functional battery from another g460)

AC Power source switching (with two fully functional devices)

Bios Update (failed, the laptop just freeze)

Clean install of windows 7 x64

Clean install of windows 7 x86

Clean install of Windows XP

Clean install of Ubuntu 11

Clean install of Ubuntu 12

all of them were useless, the problem persist.

I contacted Lenovo Brazil, and they said that they are not going to do nothing since the laptop were bought in august/2010 and is not covered by the 1 year warranty anymore.

Contacted authorized technical assistance here in São Paulo/Brazil and they said that just Lenovo can fix it, and that thay are not able to do nothing.

for now the laptop works just when plugged in the wall.

what can i do to fix it since lenovo Brazil refuses to fiz it.

Hello fecaballero and welcome to community,

The issues seems to be with hardware as the laptop is not in warranty you can take the chargeable service from the service center.

Best Regards,

Tanuj
