Hi,
all of a sudden my battery stopped working properly. I just noticed it by pulling the power plug which resulted in an immediate shut down. Windows 7 says: 88% plugged in, not charging and the Power Manager says no battery installed.
I tried powering up with the battery disconnected which works fine. I also drained the power by disconnecting power plug and battery and holding the power button for several seconds.
When the power plug is connected and I insert the battery the battery LED turns on red for 1-2 seconds, then stays white for about 20 seconds and then turns dark.
Any advices what I could check before getting a new battery? Is it possible that the issue is not the battery but the mainboard? How could I check that?
I'm somehow experienced in electronics and have a multimeter.

The best test is a different battery, it sounds like it has failed.
"When the power plug is connected and I insert the battery the
battery LED turns on red for 1-2 seconds, then stays white for about
20 seconds and then turns dark."
I know that is not the most pleasant way (cost), but at least
you will know for sure!
