Hi i installed Windows 7 on the lenovo g550 and was getting the latest drivers and got the 2.53 bios. i got the message that bios flash was successful and then gave timer till reboot. The power light is on and the fan is spinning but nothing shows up on the screen. Luckily i did backup the bios onto a usb but now how do i go about flashing the old one back on.

If you have to, just hold down power button until it shuts off.
Remove battery and wait one minute.
Replace battery, and plug it in.
Enter bios on boot and "load default settings".
If you can't get into bios, post back.

Is it under warranty?
I think it needs a service center!
Good Luck

I, after my computer shut down a couple of times due to overheating i decided to download and install the new bios driver from lenovo.com.
After i unzipped the files i was instructed tu turn off all programs not to have anything plugged in the computer....so on.
it started backuping all the old bios files ass well as making new ones. After that the computer decided to reboot, but it dosen't turn on afterwards. It only has the volume controll lights on and the on light and battery light, and the screen is all dead!
Is there a way to recover my old BIOS? can anyone send it to me with instructions? I have an excam on tuesday and i have all my files on it.
PLEASE this is reallt ugent so please please help me!

Exactly the same thing happend to me now. The last bios update (v.44) for 64-bit systems made a backup of the old bios and then installed with success and rebooted. On boot it only shows the black screen with those lights on.
Are there any way to fix this without delivering it to service? I just spoke to the Norwegian support senter and they told me it may not come on the warranty as the laptop does not have its original operation system any more (I've upgraded to Windows 7).
