I bought a G555 and after one week the camera did not work. The camera was not in Device Manager and the Veriface software said "no camera".
I found advice to press fn+esc to switch on the camera - this did not work.
I found advice to reinstall the driver.
I got the driver for my model and operating system from the Lenovo website here:
For my model/system (G555, Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit), the driver file was IN1CAM30WW5.exe
I installed the driver but got an error after the installation:
"no matched device driver"
I looked on the recovery drive D:\drivers\camera and ran setup.exe and this gave an error at the end of setup:
"the usb video device has not found"
Finally I found the solution for me anyway:
I re-started Windows in safe mode by holding F8 during startup, and tried installing the driver I got from the Lenovo website again - I right-clicked the exe and chose run as administrator from the list.
Installing in safe mode WORKED!!!
When I rebooted as normal, the camera worked again and in Device Manager, I now see Lenovo EasyCamera whereas before there was no camera there.
