G565 Ati Radeon HD 5470 white dots all over the screen

Hi all,

Plese, help me, I have the following problem.

I got the G565 triple core, 3gb, 500gb sata, ati radeon HD 5470 which doesnt accept any driver i put in there. I tried all the drivers even the oldest versions of Catalyst. When I install it, it covers a screen with many white dots. Sometimes it throws a blue screen with error in atidmag.sys.

The drivers were first installed from the cd that came with CD rom, it worked for the first 2 days after I bought it.

Then the problem came up, even puttin Ubuntu with it's drivers, it does not solve the problem.

Is there any fix for that or a BIOS update? I heard one including the VGA fan fix, but I think I do not have any problem with fan..

I really aprecciate any help on this guys!

there's no bios update for your machine right now.
try to perform clean windows installation by pressing one key recover button. if the issue persists, i suggest you to contact lenovo support line due to possible hardware ( graphic card or lcd ) issue.

Thanks, sorry, I forgot to answer you... I don't have an international support for this product, I think I'll take it to the notebook's service and replace the chip

when did you buy your laptop?

Sorry, had a lot of work to do. My girl bought it in Ukraine and came to South america. I checked and they told me I don't have an international coverage for that, here is South america it will cost me about 180 us dollars to replace the chip. I am checking right now if any update came out...

extend your warranty ( to international warranty, you'll need to call lenovo support line )
it will cost app. same. so, i suggest you to buy international warranty if you can instead of paying. at least, next time, you won't pay anything.
