Hi
Today my brand new G770 arrived. I like having a separate partition for my data, so I shrunk the partition containing the preinstalled Windows 7 and created an additional partition using PartedMagic. During this process, I deleted the rescue partitions as I don't intend to use them. Now the laptop doesn't boot at all. I made a backup of the MBR and the rescue partitions, but reverting to those has no effect. After I removed the HDD it does boot from CD. With the HDD installed I end up with a black screen after POST. Searching the forums I only found threads about reviving the rescue system, this is not what I want, I just want to (re)install and boot Windows. How do I make my laptop boot again with the HDD installed?
Regards
Herbert

Clearing all partitions had no effect. Overwriting the MBR and GPTs with zeroes had no effect. I zeroed the whole drive, now the Laptop finally boots from CD. Just took me about two days to figure out. ![]()
