How do I turn the camera indicator light of my G530 off?

Question

I installed a program to trace my laptop in the event it is stolen, where a remote signal will be sent to activate the laptop to take a picture of the thief.

However, the indicator light of the camera will be a dead giveaway that the person is being watched and as such, is there a way to switch this off?

Answer

Indicator lights are tied directly in with the hardware.  Currenty there isn't any software or special key presses that will disable just the indicator.  

Some users mask the light with tape, or even nail polish or dark paint.
