I have a problem with a G560 as seen here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FLYN7G
(Note my review, which I changed after the seller gave me a full refund. They suck at packaging things.)
When I turn it on, i see no screen, but if you put a flash light to the screen, you can see there is one faintly.
It has been this way since the very first time I powered it up. Hooking up an external monitor verified that the computer works. After getting the laptop set up the way I wanted I figured I would try to fix it since it cost me so little and I didn't want to wait for a new lappy seeing how I am in afghanistan, (I am in the Army) and delivery of stuff takes time.
I ordered a brand new screen hoping to fix this issue. if it is wiring, i have no idea what I am going to do. what wiring piece would i replace? I watched this to try and help me:

what parts would i order? Just a screen? If the screen doesnt fix the issue, what else could it be? Should I try reformaing the HD because of a possible I/O issue?
What I am trying to do is find out what to do.

You are correct on the screen type, although I do not know how that makes a difference unless LED's light up their own screens.

So, If I had to choose, replace the screen and not the cable? if something on the motherboard is broke, i am screwed. I will see what I can do. I ordered one.

Seeing as I bought it from Powerup off of Amazon.com, I would hope so. It came this way out of the box.

well, i have already bought the screen and had it shipped, plus it was a cheap laptop...only 400 bucks, so it is all good. i just wanted to know if i am heading in the right direction based on the issue i am having.

that link is awesome. It shows all the possible configurations. I bet you could totally replace the processor and ram and really tinker with these things, given you knew how many pins were on the processor. I moddded an acer like that and it was a cool experiance to has a dream machine for so cheap. At least I can completely take apert and order any parts on this thing i need. no other laptop maker i have found was willing to put all that out there like you all have.
seeing how the seller refunded my money in exchange for a positive review, you can bet i am going to have fun with this now! thanks!!!
