i have a very peculiar problem with my lenovo g550 lap, i kept it aside without using for 2 days, when i switched on the next day it didnt start, i removed the battery and tested but nothin worked only the battery charging light was glowing. suddenly after an hour and half it started working automatically and it worked fine throughout the day, next day i had same problem it started abt 2hrs later, i offed and oned it several time aftr tat it worked fine.......i still got tat problem.....cant make out whats wrong with it....give me some solution people

any other alternative ? it starts all by itself after abt 2 to 3hrs

Did you try using the laptop without battery? Try it.
You must to understand that this kind of problem maybe is located on hardware. In this case, you must to call Lenovo for technical service (there is no other option because they can replace any part).

tried it...no luck.....it was working fine until i kept it aside for 2 days.....its hard to imagine how a hardware can fail by keeping it aside in a safe place

Maybe the motherboard comes faulty. Never know.

used it for 6 months.......it was working fine........it usually starts after abt 2 hrs but today its not gettin started even after 4hrs now

As I told you, the motherboard maybe comes faulty. Electronical components can fail!
Call customer service, explain they what happen. If you laptop is under warranty, the will repair it for free.
