Laptop not recognising power cable

Hi, I have a Lenono 3000 N100, model name: 0768. It no longer registers when my power cable is plugged in, therefore only uses the battery to power, which lasts a short while but obviously isn't a long term way of powering my laptop. Has anyone else had this problem? I just try and plug the cable in and my laptop still runs from the battery. I have checked the cable in my sister's laptop and it works fine, so I know it's a problem with the laptop itself. The only way I can get the laptop to power via the cable is if i twist it around alot and then it may register with the laptop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

   i have same problm with my laptop(IBM thinkpad R 51 2887 AE3 model). Are you get any solution. please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Your power connector on the laptop into which you insert the power plug into probably has loosened and damaged, it is a common failure.

Do you still have warranty??? You would need to get the connector changed.
