Laptop sound quality

I have had this laptop for year.  Since day one the sound from the speakers can barely be heard.  The only solution has been some addon external speakers.  Anyone else have weak system speakers???

I dunno.  I can hear sound if I'm sitting close-- like in the desk chair with my hands on the keyboard.  Otherwise, or if I want to hear any music, I use external speakers. (I keep the laptop at my desk, mostly, so it's no problem; I just figured, oh, well.... Great computer, can't have everything.)

There's no "A53," but a "36U" which I didn't think was part of the type.  But it's fine!  I didn't expect great speakers on a laptop, and I don't use it as a TV set or anything.

The tag on the bottom of this says "type 0768A53"  I was able to select that when I registered this box.

Yeah, I got some nice little external speakers that are powered by the USB port, so that eliminates at least one more cable.

I use this laptop whenever I travel and would need to google maps or mapquest for routes.  Now I have a decent GPS device and only use the laptop to play DVDs.  It's just like the not so old days as I now have a $1000.00 DVD player.  And it's portable!!!

Mine Lenovo 3000 N200 0769-5BG (s/n L3-N9672) also sounds very weak, compared with my previous HP 3477 notebook.

(I can't complain about the quality, as it's not in a level that you can recognize all tones.)

Mine Lenovo 3000 N200 0769-5BG is exactly the same i cant hear anything if my laptop is about 2 meters away  does anyone knows anysolution to this plz thanks

i had the same problem on my 3000 n200. after the following steps its roaring my head off

1. Install the latest driver from realtek hd audio
2. go to the sounds control panel and disable all "sound enhancements"

this should bring a big improvement

I can agree: much improved with the new Realtek driver.  On my Y410, I found that enabling Loudness Equalization actually increases volume.  Contrary to what the tech told me too.

I also had a problem with the system freezing when resuming from sleep.  Updating the Realtek driver appears to have solved that issue too.
