When i press start btn following message comes up -
" PRESS F2 FOR SETUP PRSS F12 FOR BOOT DEVICE SELECTION MENU' .
The black screen with this message hangs there for almost 2 minutes and then the hard disk activity light blinks and the windows starts.
When this happens,I can not find my DVD drive in explorer and if I want to push open the drive it does not work.
It happens ninety percent of the time.
Sometimes though, windows start normally and on those occassions, DVD drive works normally.
Anybody can suggest any cure for this problem?

Your DVD drive may be failing, or need to be re-seated.
I can't tell you how to remove it exactly, since I do not
have a description of the process on that model.
Usually, though, there is a screw or two on the bottom
that locks the drive in place. I just do not know which one.
Some else may know?

Thank you but what about the message and the delay at startup?
If sometimes it did not wrk fine, I would have thought that the machine is made to boot like that ,
But 10% of the time, windows boots smoothly after I press the start btn. Dvd drive remains available and works fine.
90% of the time it hangs at the Lenovo logo screen with message " Prees f2 for setup press f12 to go to boot device selection menu", stays there for two minutes and then stirrs up to start.
I could endure the wait but end result- no DVD drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you pressed F2 on startup to enter Setup?
Try it if you have not, and choose Save and Reboot
and see if it works then. Use arrow keys to move
through menus in Setup.
