Hi everyone,
I have a quite serious problem. I have the laptop mentioned in the subject of this topic. It's about 2 years old now, and besides that blinking during games - still annoying how the WDDM or whatever along with the vga driver(latest intel x3100) still can't come to terms with eachother under win 7 ultimate 64bit - it's been OK up until yesterday.
I was playing WoW and suddenly the fps dropped to none and the screen went blank. My laptop was resetted in an instance. After about 1 hour of playing.(tho' later on it did this again by all itself, as I left it turned on) I checked the cooling system, but it's not even 6 months since the last time it has been throughoutly cleaned. I did a memory check with win 7's own memcheck application, but it proved negative. Did a virus check from the other OS I have - 9.10 ubuntu linux - and it only found the usual encrypted exe-s of win 7. (not likely to be virus)
I am thinking that it might be cause of the OS - win 7 - is dying or something. Gonna try if it shows under linux - tho' that ran for about 2 hours at the virus check without a problem.
Since I am a student in an IT school I work a lot on my laptop, so having the danger of potentially loosing data at any given time is quite a real hazard for me. If anyone have had similar troubles or know anything that might help please respond.

Could my brothers problem be the same as yours?
Look at my post:

No, I don't think so, since your brother's problem seems to be stemming from a contact error.
Since you said moving it induced the turnoff.
Also, my laptop doesn't turn off, it resets and only under win 7.
