Lenovo G460, stops charging after sometime while laptop is working

Hi,

I am using Lenovo g460 for the past 2 years. I am facing a charging issue recently. While working, if i connect the charger, it charges for sometime and then it stops. If i remove the pin and connect it , again it charges for sometime and stops. 

But if the machine is in shutdown condition it charges properly. 

I have shown it to a service person but he was not able to find the issue. Then i contacted the lenovo customer support and as per their instruction, i updated bios, unistalled and reinstalled the energy  management software, but still the issue is not resolved.

I have replaced my battery almost a month back because my old battery was completly exhausted and was not even holding for some 5 seconds.

Anyone please help to reslove this issue.

Did you replace battery with genuine Lenovo battery?

Some of the "aftermarket" ones may act like that.

I belive it is genuine. I bought it from an authorised dealer. It came with one with one year warrenty.

But there is a difference in model no. The one came with the pack was L09S6Y02(10.8 V,4.1 Ah,48Wh)  and the new one I have now  is L08S6Y02( 11.1 V,3.96 Ah, 48Wh) .  But as per I have seen in many site, L08S6Y02 is compatiable with G460 model.

Can this be any fault with charger?

Does the battery have Lenovo printed on it?
If it is easy to exchange, maybe try a replacement?

Yes, the charger could be the problem.

Yes... It have lenovo printed on it. also almost all details which was printed in the original battery
