Hi,
I have just bought the Lenovo G575 notebook and installed Windows 7 (32 bit) on it. I'm having a huge problem with the fan which seems to be blowing at full speed - and is thus annoyingly loud - and have no idea how to fix this. I've updated the BIOS to the latest version (1.05) but this didn't solve the problem. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? The fan is supposed to be controlled dynamically, but this is definitely not the case.
One other minor thing: I thought I had bought the version with the Radeon HD 6370M IGP (M522XGE), but the device manager shows both the 6370M AND the 6310M.
I hope someone can help me out with this, because otherwise I'll have to send the notebook back to the shop.
Thanks in advance,
Neven

Hi, thanks for the answer.
I freshly installed Windows XP, and then from XP did a fresh install of 7 (couldn't do it through booting because of a code 5 error, which apparently is because of some problem with AMD hardware). I then did a new Windows XP install because I found some drivers for XP (only had drivers for 7 on the Lenovo dvd), some of which didn't work, but to no avail.
How does the type of installation make a difference? Isn't this just due to some thing missing in BIOS or a faulty sensor read-out? On some German sites more people reported the G575 blowing like a Föhn (a very strong wind in the Alps).
Thanks again,
Neven

"I've updated the BIOS to the latest version (1.05) but this didn't solve the problem."
I believe the latest version is 41CN19WW(v1.05). It didn't solve the issue, unfortunately, neither in Win7 or XP.

I updated the bios in Win7, then re-installed XP and installed all the drivers for it. I believe it worked for power management.
You know, thanks a lot for trying to help me out, but I think I'm sending the notebook back to the shop. These things should work out of the box, and as more people are complaining about the blowing fan, I don't think this will be solved any time soon. It's too bad because I really like this laptop, but I can't work with such an annoying sound in the background.
Thanks again. ![]()

I bought a Lenovo G575 about a week ago and found that the fan was running at full tilt about 85% of the time. I could not stand the noise.
I was about to return it to BB but since I disabled the Hibernate mode it seems to be much better. The fan no longer runs (nearly) all the time. I think I'll hang on to it for now.

Just to say the fan on mys G575 is almost always on , linux or windows no matter.
there is a 1.07 on the Web but the changelog say nothing about the fan.
It's just crazy that lenovo could sell such not finished laptop.
You should never buy a laptop without having tested it before , or Buy a Mac ...
