Hello,
I've recently purchased a new Lenovo G770 machine and after a while began to experience problems with the ATI display driver that kept triggering blue screens (BSODs) and black screen freezes with the well known message 'the ATI display driver stopped working and has recovered successfully'. My system is the CORE i5, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB HDD and dual graphics version (ATI Radeon HD 6650M and Intel 3000). I have the latest drivers from the Lenovo support site, so the 'do you have the latest driver version' question is pointless. The most recent driver for the ATI Radeon from Lenovo is the one dated April 15th 2011!!! Did anyone else come across this problem? I'm not really keen on exchaning my laptop or sending it to service without a little research and DIY. So, anyone, Lenovo, HELP? Much appreciated!
Thank you!

Its unfair that the drivers are almost 1 year old ! Isnt there another way to instal the 6650 driverse, cause if i download them from the ati/amd site it says that there is no recognizable hardware.
Agreed! We can't get the driver or updates from anywhere else but the Lenovo website and Lenovo doesn't provide anything new for almost a year now! ATI released an updated driver for the Radeon HD 6650m in November, as far as I know. Hello, Lenovo, how about it?

Thank you for your reply. Tried it, no luck, installer said that everything was up-to-date. Any other ideas?

have you tried to update the drivers directly amd?
Yes, I did but the installer from the AMD/ATI support site said it could do nothing and that I should check my laptop manufacturer's site for an updated driver... thus my previous posts and shock at Lenovo not being able to release one for almost a year now!!!

can you perform clean windows installation by pressing one key recover button? clean windows installation usually helps.
Been there, done that
The laptop came with Windows 7 Home Premium / 64 bit already installed. Had these problems under that OS and decided to try another one, so I did a clean install of the Windows 7 Ultimate / 64 bit that I'm running now. No change, seems a bit better than the Home Edition, but the problem's still there. If you have Lenovo's ear, could you please ask them about any other way around this or maybe the ETA on an updated driver for the Radeon HD 6650m? Thank you for your time on this.
