N200 fingerprint driver Vista SP1

I have basically the same problem as hfelsh in this thread:

only difference is, the driver for N200 different than for N100 (why the heck?) and the latest version from lenovo is this one, far too old:

so when will lenovo make it possible to download Vista SP1 for N200 users? Updating this driver shouldn´t be that hard.

anyone else got that problems with vista SP1 not showing up on windows update?

I think there are many N200 users with this problem, knowing it or not...

To everybody reading this and having this problem: post at least a short reply!

There are admins from lenovo in this forum, so there´s a big chance to get this problem solved, if enough people give feedback!

Can you tell me the model of the fingerprint module on your machine? Is it an AuthenTec AES1610?

With regards to Vista SP1, it is highly unlikely that it will have any effect on your fingerprint reader. However, if you wish to obtain Vista SP1, you can get the x86 or the x64 version through Microsoft's download centre.

the model of the fingerprint reader is AES2501A.

I know that it´s possible to download the five language (!) standalone service pack, but I want to download the smaller version via windows update.

but as microsoft has detected problems with the authentec drivers - as described in this microsoft knowledge base KB948343 (look under method for cause 5): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948343/

 - the service pack will not show up!

Besides, I don´t recommend downloading the standalone while knowing that microsoft has detected the authentec driver as incompatible!

I am using Lenovo's AuthenTec driver 7.7.1.2. According to KB948343, it should not work under Vista SP1?

I still recommend that you try just installing the redistributable package of SP1. I have used that installation method, and I'm using Vista SP1 with the AuthenTec driver quite happily.

it worked fine for me, the service pack showed up via windows update, which I installed with no problems.

I have a lenovo 3000 n200.
I had the same problem and I solved it using the instructions from these page:

It worked great for me. Only after the update it didn't recognize the sound output, but a disable/enable of that driver solved everything.

I've got the Same issue..

I have the N200 with XP, but installed Vista Business and the Fingerprint Reader does not work with Vista.
I am busy usy installing SP1 that I downloaded as a file instead of Windows Update.

I used this fix provided where I updated the Driver to 7.9.0.4 but still does not work..
Any help would be appreciated...
