N500 Touchpad control screen pops up on screen without activation

Hi All

Looked everywhere for this solution. Without notice the touchpad on/off screen control pops up without any input from me. The touch sensitive button located on the top right hand side will illuminate. I can close the screen down but it will immediately pop back up again. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot. Sometimes even this won't work.

Its a really anoying problem because it overides everything waiting for an input request. Even when i'm doing a presentation. Installed new drivers, still no joy. Only happens 50% of the time.

Any help would be appreciated.......

have you tried to re-install or update touchpad drivers?

Yes, first thing I did.

using alps touchpad? try to remove the drivers and let the windows install it.

Thanks for that but I tried this also. It just overrides everything. It will just pop to the top and command No 1 attention. You go to shut it down but it immediately pops back up again.. There are four touch sensitive buttons on the top right hand section of the laptop. Only this one lights up when the problem rears itself. It is totally un-responsive to touch. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot. Not an option half way through a presentation.

Lenovo need to get this problem sorted out or their credibility of providing value business machines goes out the window.

No help from them whatsoever...Never going to buy another one, not even a Thinkpad!!!

Do you think you can take a screen shot of the Pop-Up?.

You can do that by clicking on the popup windows and pressing alt+print screen. Then open Paint and paste the picture. Save it and load it to a online image host. I find tinypic to be easy to use. Once posted it will show you the link address to the picture. Just come back and post it..
